Youth Village: How did the name Liquideep come about?

Liquideep: The name was used by Ryzor before the group, but Ziyon gave it meaning after we formed a group . ‘Liquid’ = Our music is not ‘boxed’ to one genre we just do music we feel . ‘Deep’ = we take time with our music, we are on a mission to create timeless music and it’s a life long journey

Youth Village:Starting up what were some of the challenges you faced?

Liquideep: Before fairy tale broke we where just dj’s playing at restaurants and where not chasing record deals an stuff, where were just playing our favorite records to those who where willing to give us an ear Lol!

Youth Village: When did you get your first break?

Liquideep: This happened in 2009, when the song ‘Fairytale’ broke into the scene, this caught us by a surprise and a lot of things changed from them on, in a good way tho! 🙂

Youth Village: Your latest single “Welcome Aboard” is really something fresh; take us through the recording and song writing process?

Liquideep: The song was initially recorded in a while back, and it was revisited last year, where Sunnyboy played live guitars and more stuff was added to the song to make it current, it’s one of our favorite song to perform, everyone just looses themselves when it comes on!!

Liquideep: Our first time in Namibia was epic, Kenya was amazing, Angola, Dar Es Salaam, Dubai, Maputo, ah!!! just thinking of the love we get when we visit this places is just mind blowing. Places like Portugal, Maimi, Paris, London … man!! only videos or pictures can explain how awesome it gets 🙂

Youth Village: What makes your group different to other house groups out there?

Liquideep: We make music from our hearts, the intention is to share a piece of us with the listener experiencing themselves in the music at the same time, we capture our past, present and future lives into the song … yes the future us lol!

Youth Village: You guys have shared stages with great artists such Akon and Angie Stone, did you always anticipate that?

Liquideep: No, honestly we didn’t anticipate anything, we where just in it for the love, we still are but sharing stages with these type if people is a cherry on top, it’s all a blessing from God.

Youth Village: How do you cope with fame?

Liquideep: There’s no formula to deal with fame, we just try consistently to be ourselves and be relatable, so we are constantly on guard to prevent the praise going into our heads.
