“Drop Offs Are So Heartbreaking,” Khaya Mthethwa On the Pain of Not Staying With His Son

“Drop Offs Are So Heartbreaking,” Khaya Mthethwa On the Pain of Not Staying With His Son. The bond between a son and a father is a very special one. Sadly for some fathers, they have neglected the role, and some for whatever reason, can’t execute it perfectly because they don’t live with their sons.

One such is Khaya Mthethwa. The former Idols SA winner, award winning musician and media personality became a father back in 2019. This was one of the best things to ever happen to him, and he still cherishes the moment. Khaya instantly became a doting dad, enjoying every moment of fatherhood. He shares his son with former Miss SA, and author, Ntando Kunene. Sadly their marriage ended within a year, and baby Oyinkosi Mthethwa had to live with his mom.

Taking to Twitter, Khaya has just shared one of the main hardships of not living with his son. This is drop offs, where a child normally cries, not wanting to leave their other parent behind. Without sharing much information, Khaya said that those living with their kids should take it as a blessing. Interestingly enough, many men in the comments sections could relate.

Count it a blessing to live with your child… drop offs are so heart breaking,” Khaya said.
