SKILLS
This is one of the most important parts of your CV. List all the skills you have that you feel are relevant to the job for which you are applying or that you feel make you an asset to the company. Do not think you don’t have any skills. A waitressing job, for example, teaches you to work in a team, and if you feel you have mastered this, you could list “works well within a team” or “team player” under this section. You could also include any additional training you may have completed, here. For example, you might have completed a public speaking course and can therefore add “public speaking” to this list.
i.e.,
Team Player
Public Speaking (Completed Public Speaking Course at XYZ College, 2011)
Time Management
Self-Motivated
Microsoft Office (Completed Computer Skills Course at ABC School, 2009)
REFERENCES
All CVs must end with references – the names, positions and contact details of two or three people who are willing to testify on your behalf that the information contained in your CV is true. It is therefore important that you ask their permission to be added as a reference on your CV because they will be contacted by the persons receiving it. Make sure the contact details are current and correct. If possible, include a telephone number and an email address. Never use a family member as a reference as they may show bias towards you and references should be as objective as possible.
