During this trying time we have seen the likes of Nomzamo Mbatha, Kgomotso Christopher, Minnie Dlamini to mention only three announce major hosting gigs.

The latest celeb to make her mark with a cool lockdown gig is Pearl Shongwe. The media personality has just bagged a cool hosting gig. Pearl has announced to her fans and followers that she is the official voice over artist for this year’s South African Music Awards. The 2020 SAMAs will be following suite of other award ceremonies by the ceremony happening online due to the Covid-19 regulations.

This is a dream come true for Pearl who has been doing voice overs for major awards shows. She has always wanted to showcase her talent on the SAMAs, and 2020 was just the year to do so.

“I’m so thrilled to share that I am the official voice over artist for the 2020 South African Music Awards. Over the years, I’ve had the great honor of gracing major awards as the voice and 2 years ago, I remember thinking how much I’d love to voice the SAMAs. My voice has taken me to multiple TV and radio platforms through commercials and shows, including the current Powerball draw shows! The SA sport awards, The SA boxing awards, The Regional Sport awards and more have really elevated my game and I’m so excited to be part of a team that will be challenged in every technical way to bring a show worthy of success,” she shared on Facebook.

This annual event honors the country’s finest music talent over two days in key categories, as they battle for the South African industry’s highest honor, a statuette at the South African Music Awards.
