South African Actors Pay Touching Tributes to Don Mlangeni Nawa. A day ago, the entertainment industry lost one of its icons. Veteran actor, Don Mlangeni Nawa passed away on Wednesday 16 April, aged 65. His family shared a statement on his social media to notify colleagues, fans, followers and the nation at large.
Having been on television for at least three decades, the veteran actor remains one of the most recognizable faces in the industry. Many know Babβ Don for portraying Zebedee Matabane on the former SABC 3 soapie Isidingo. He portrayed the role for 16 years. Besides that he has been on many shows including, Hlala Kwabafileyo, Stokvel, Rockville, The River, Abomama, The Republic, The Throne, Legacy, The Estate, Good Men, Makoti, Losing Lerato, Shaka iLembe, and Soon Comes Night.
Along the way, Bab’ Don rubbed shoulders with many actors, and he influenced them positively. Upon hearing the news of his passing, a lot of these actors took to social media to remember him. One such is award winning actor and producer Kagiso Modupe. He can’t wrap his head around the whole thing because he and Bab’ Don spoke 16 hrs before he passed. Kagiso is however grateful for the relationship they had and the lessons he gained. Other industry colleagues like Wiseman Mcube, Nomsa Buthelezi, and Sana Mchunu also paid tribute to the fallen giant.
