Kabelo Mabalane Celebrates 16 Years Of Being Sober. Kabelo Mabalane beat alcohol and substance abuse 16 years ago, and he is still standing. The award-winning kwaito musician and actor took to Twitter to share with his followers his milestone.

“Today I celebrate 16yrs clean & sober.Whoever,wherever u are struggling with addiction,recovery is possible,” he said. Having been hooked since 1999, it was only in 2002 that he decided enough was enough. He was into drinking, weed, ecstasy and cocaine.

Through his story, he continues to inspire many young South Africans dealing with the same problem. Kabelo is now a responsible family man.
