Simphiwe Ngema Displays Strength At Dumi’s Memorial Service

Losing your husband 3 months after your wedding and becoming a widow at age 27 cannot be an easy thing. The strength that the wife of the late Dumisani, Simphiwe showed yesterday was incredible. It was not easy, but she still managed to smile as she watched tributes and videos of Dumi on stage.

Hundreds of mourners filled the Hope Restoration Ministries Hall in Kempton Park for the memorial of Rhythm City actor, Dumisani Masilela. His widowed wife Simphiwe displayed strength as she sang and danced at the memorial. Although she was visibly distraught she still manged to gather the strength to worship. Simphiwe also danced to one of her late husband’s videos.

She also gave a moving speech surrounded by family and friends. Simphiwe  started off by saying, “Nothing can prepare you for being a 27-year-old widow. That all the dreams you dreamt of will be taken away from you.” She concluded, “The God who Dumi believed in is a God of miracles. And if he wanted Dumi to live, he would have lived. But it was time. Dumi was perfect. He was one of the perfect people. I never used to worry about him. And God takes the good ones.”
