Kwesta Lands A Role In TV Drama
Senzo Mfundo Vilakazi who is popularly known as Kwesta celebrates another milestone. The rapper has scored himself a TV role in a soap opera called Shuga that will air from the 7th of March 2017 on channel 322 and will also be broadcast by the SABC following the premiere on DSTV. The cast of this show was unveiled at a media briefing held earlier this week
Among the cast members are ex Generation actress Winnie Ntshaba and Scandal actor Clint Brink. Kwesta and Nigerian artist Seyi Shay will make cameo appearance on the show. It was revealed that the show will mainly focus on major social issues such as HIV/AIDS.
The rapper said that this was his first acting gig and admitted that it wasn’t easy at all.”It was a bit of a challenge at first cause I kept doubting myself with regards to the script, I thought I would forget it and stuff but at the end of it all everybody made me feel comfortable” said Kwesta
The show is shot in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. There was previously shot in Kenya and Nigeria, but it will now be in South Africa, as well as a fictional version of Soweto called Zenzele. The cast however ask everyone to tune in
