“I See A Lot Of Similarities In Trevor Noah And Myself”- Says AKA

Oh my, lets just say this once gain. We are proud of you Doro Mega! AKA made Mzansi proud over the weekend at the Annual African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) which was held in Dallas, Texas by scooping two major awards. He won Best Male Southern Africa and Best Collaboration for “All Eyes On ME”. After the big achievement, the rapper to some time to check out sites in New York City and in between he met up with our very own Trevor Noah.

AKA shared a photo of himself and Trevor on his social media accounts and he wrote a very heartfelt message thanking Trevor Noah for taking some time off to meet him. He also mentioned how proud he is of him and pointed out that he sees a lot of similarities in him and Trevor.

Here’s the full message:

“Good Morning South Africa. As you you start your day I want to tell you a story about dreams. Dreams are what make us get up in the morning, they keep the fire burning. In our country, too often are people are ridiculed for the size of their dreams. The courage that it takes, the belief in yourself to move to the other side of the world and leave your comfort zone requires a lot of guts and bravery. I see a lot of similarities in Trevor and myself. While we are on different paths and in different lanes, myself, much like the rest of this continent’s great talents, we are on a mission to change the way the WORLD sees us. There has never been a better time to be AFRICAN. It was really cool seeing first hand how big of a deal he had become in the states(the guy has ads in the subway, on the top of cabs  even!). It was a bit surreal watching it LIVE because I’ve been a big fan of the Daily Show for years(even now I watch it, see him as the host and have to keep reminding myself it’s not a show on Mnet or something). I’ve known him for a while and besides him being in a bit of a rush(he’s a busy guy now) … He still took the time to make sure I was well taken care of and made sure we linked up after the show …. Definitely one of the most inspiring experiences of my life. So cheers @trevornoah… All the best and God BLESS … Keep making us proud”
