The biggest and probably the most recognised comedy icon in South Africa, Trevor Noah has been the face of South African comedy for many years now known all over the world.

Here’s a list of things you may have or may not have known about Trevor Noah:

1.Trevor Noah was born to a (White European) Swiss father and (Black African) South African (Xhosa) mother.

2. His mixed-race heritage, his experiences growing up in a Soweto township, and his observations about race and ethnicity are leading themes in his comedy.

3.Trevor Noah had a small role on the South African soap opera, Isidingo in 2002, when he was 18. 

4. After Isidingo Trevor Noah began hosting his own radio show Noah’s Ark on Gauteng’s leading youth radio station, YFM.

5. Trevor Noah was nominated in the MTV Africa Music Awards 2014 for Personality of the Year.

6.Trevor Noah has two younger siblings from his mothers 2nd marriage.

7. Trevor speaks 7 languages: English, Afrikaans, Zulu, Xhosa, Tswana, Tsonga, German.

8. Trevor’s girlfriend is Dani Gabriel a physiotherapist based in Cape Town.
