Bridget Masinga Shares Parking Lot Safety Tips for Women. Every single day we hear horror stories of hijackings, kidnappings and killings of innocent people. Just yesterday, it was announced that EFF former Secretary-General, Godrich Gardee’s daughter who has been missing, has been killed.
Hillary Gardee reportedly disappeared on Friday after she was last seen at a Spar outlet in a shopping plaza in Nelspruit. It looks like the 29 year-old has been killed by whoever abducted her on that fateful day. Police are however still running investigations. It goes without saying that although everyone is at risk, women are the most people easily targeted by these criminals.
These criminals also target people while they are most vulnerable and not paying much attention in most cases. Places like parking lots are some of those, where individuals get caught off guard. Bridget Masinga shared how one security officer at Hyde Park once called her out for not paying attention to her surroundings when in the parking lot. He advised the award winning radio personality to never feel safe in the parking lot.
“A security at Hyde Park once called me out for being preoccupied on my phone whilst heading towards my car, Bridget said.
The security personnel went on to share with Bridget some safety tips while she is in the parking lot. The tips include putting the phone away while walking to the car, and immediately locking doors and driving off once inside the car.
