Establishment of Small, Medium & Micro-Sized Enterpises (SMMEs) At CETA

Introduction

The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) is funding the establishment, including the relevant training, of one hundred (100) Small, Medium and Micro-sized Enterprises (SMMEs) across the country by Nomaku Trading. The year-long project entails business registration, training in new venture creation, training in assessment and moderation, accreditation support, and support towards business procurement. Each SMME will consist of three (3) people, the main shareholder of which will be appointed through this invitation for applications.

Applications are therefore invited from individuals, especially women and people with disability, who would like to be main shareholders in SMMEs established with financial, training and other support from the CETA.

Each applicant must, at the very least, fulfil the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or legal resident
• Hold a Matric certificate or a recognised full trade qualification
• Have at least five (5) years’ work experience
• CETA-related qualifications or knowledge of the construction industry may count in the applicant’s favour.
• Each successful applicant will be expected to identify two (2) suitably-qualified people for the CETA’s approval for inclusion as shareholders in the SMMEs to be established.
