Watch! Gail Mabalane Takes Us Through Her Hair Loss Journey. For a few years now, she has been raising awareness about Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia. This is a common cause of hair loss that is usually experienced by black women. Gail Mabalane as well as other celebrities such as Altovise Lawrence have openly talked about their experiences with the condition.

In September 2019, Gail was courageous enough to show off her bald her and speak about CCCA. The talented actress found out about her condition after going to the salon for a routine hair wash. To her shock, after her wash, a big chunk of her hair was gone. Gail tried every trick in the book to try get back her hair, only for her to keep on losing more hair. After seeking professional help, Gail was diagnosed with CCCA.

This Women’s Month, she finally decided to ope up more her hair loss journey. This decision came about after many women sent her messages, emailed her and even stopped her to ask questions and get advice on this very real issue. Gail used her YouTube channel, to share her story as well as give comfort to other women who might be facing the same situation.
