As a matter of fact, hackers target accounts with a huge following. In most instances, after hacking these accounts, they are sold to those desperate for a large social media following.

One individual who knows the pain of losing a social media account to hackers is Nambitha Ben-Mazwi. In 2021, the award winning actress and fashionista’s Facebook fan page got stolen by hackers. The sad part is that some of Nambitha’s recent work at the time got deleted, and she couldn’t get access to her page. Desperate to get her account back, Nambitha asked help from social media users. She also engaged Human Patch, a company that offers cybersecurity solution. They are said to have helped singer and actor Anga Makubalo get his Twitter account back, after also going through the same dilemma.

Sadly two years later, Nambitha is battling the same problem. She has revealed that her Facebook account has been hacked. Nambitha also asked social media users for assistance in terms of leads and ways to solve the problem. Another thing they can help is by reporting the page. Currently the page is at 39K likes and a whopping 390K followers. Nambitha uses it to share news about herself, as well as her latest pictures.

“Hi guys Please note, my Facebook public page has been hacked. If you have any leads on how I can resolve this, please let me know. Otherwise, please assist by reporting the page as “impersonating someone else”, Nambitha said.
