Top 7 Things You Didn’t Know About Locnville

Locnville is a South African electro hop music duo. Identical twin brothers Andrew and Brian Chaplin formed Locnville in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2009. 

Here’s a list of things you may have or may not have known about Locnville: 

1. They are not just brothers they’re twins, yeah their twins.

2. The duo loves braaing -“Haha! And a good question that is! It’s a tough one, I’d say we work well as braaing combination! I think every South African has braaing in their blood!” 

3. Locnville don’t really get star struck but most star struck was meeting Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear.

4. If it wasn’t for music Andrew would have pursued a career in Film.

5. Locnville believes that there’s nothing better than working with close friends, for instance they have been friends with  Pascal & Pearce  for a long time so it’s always a great experience to work with them!

6. “But basically it relates to the fact that were both American and South African. The name change was really more of a logo chance. We first came out when we were really young and a lot of people couldn’t look past that; comparing us to people like Justin Bieber etc. Our music is very different to that so we figured something as simple as a logo change could take some of the attention away from the preconception.”

7. “a while back we performed in a little competition and were disqualified because the judges honestly thought we were lip syncing… we took it as quite a compliment though, that’s when we just decided to go at it by ourselves! The most difficult thing about live shows is when a sound check doesn’t go down right… you need to do a proper sound check!”
